Zydeco ShrimP Recipe

Our Zydeco Shrimp appetizer is one that your family will sure to be jazzed about.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

INGREDIENTS

  • 1lb 60/70 shrimp (peeled and deveined)

  • 1 tsp Don’s All Purpose Seasoning

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour

  • Egg Wash (1 egg whisked with 1 cup of milk)

  • 2 Red Bell Peppers (seeded and finely chopped)

  • 1/2 cup White Vinegar

  • 1 3/4 cup Sugar

  • 1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

  • Sauce Pot

  • Pan for Frying

HOW TO MAKE zydeco SHRIMP

SHRIMP

Lightly season shrimp with Don’s All Purpose Seasoning. Batter seasoned shrimp in flour, then dip in egg wash, and back to flour (double batter). Deep fry in oil at 350° for 4-5 minutes or until shrimp turn golden brown and begin to float.

HOMEMADE PEPPER JELLY

In a small sauce pot, combine bell peppers, vinegar, sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes. Bring to a rolling boil (one that does not stop when stirred) over high heat while stirring constantly. Boil for 4-5 minutes and remove from heat.

Serve pepper jelly sauce over fried shrimp and enjoy!
